The order is different for each game, with green or blue usually being the first one, and white, red, or purple being the final one, with yellow and cyan near the middle. ![]() The colour order of the Chaos EmeraldsNow that it's been confirmed that the Chaos Emeralds will be returning, the idea behind the game seems to be (so far): explore the open world and gain new abilities to reach portal gears which unlock linear stages, then complete them to get Vault Keys that unlock the Chaos Emeralds (presumably, collecting all 7 of them unlocks the final stage and Final Boss).
